The Nucleus was established in 2001 from the "Rondônia Project", a research that saw itself head of the challenge to develop a Video Conference system connecting doctors of two equidistant regions of Brazil, leading in account the immense differences and peculiarities of the two regions.

The system made possible the diagnosis and searches for one second medical opinion for pediatric oncology cases between São Paulo (SP) and Porto Velho (RO). It was the first step to start the argumentation about Telemedicine in the country.
