Python - A Interactive Volume Visualization Navigation Tool for Medical Data

Python is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to help the medical diagnosis process. It provides resources to visualize 2D and 3D images from CT and MRI equipments and has been written in Motif and C languages.It also uses a C library called PVV (Parallel Volume Visualize).

PVV is a part of SMART project and provide parallel computing, memory and I/O management and other resources.

The interface integrates many tools for volume visualization and all of then have been written under PVV. Some of these tools are: segmentation, material editing, image processing algorithms, etc.

Other Python's features are:

• Support to hdf, pwf (pvv file format) and binary file formats.
• 2D and 3D visualization.
• Stackflow
• Hounsfield scale for CT volumes.
