The future does
not belong to anyone. Many are the purposes and possibilities of the temporal
flux.
Personally I
can't believe that an end is coming by the corner of the millennium, because
there are contrary forces against this stream getting more volume every
day.
I see, an example
from Einstein, preferably the optimistic effects of the technological development
in our societies. It is true that the human animal has not evolved as much
as its own technology, to the point that, for many times, he has made use
of that for his own destruction and for the destruction of his environment
where life is possible.
The world wakes
for the necessity of new technologies which won't threaten the fragile
biologic equilibrium in Earth, as once it is truly disturbed the chances
for the human life will be hardly compromised. These beings still need
to breath, eat, use the toilette and reproduce, as all other animals on
Earth, despite of the intelligence quotient.
Einstein used
to see with optimism the human mind conquests, and the technology, weighting
its value for the comfort that it brought for human life, sparing us from
uncertain and ineffective procedures common in many past societies, as
in the middle age, and even after the discoveries.
Until now, it
is easy to verify that technology conquests have not managed to eliminate
poverty and eradicate the ignorance in the world.
Industrial products
are everywhere, assisting from basic necessities to the spatial industry.
The PC has gone popular, the Internet is right in our lives, but the transforming
essence does not seem to be present in this technological race. Technology
improves every day, but world's problems don't shrink, on the contrary
they get worse - we have experienced more droughts, more floodings, more
pollution, more blind capitalist greed, more irrational environment exploration,
and the rebirth of slavery, new diseases, for instance the several modern
life psychoses populating the stressed minds of the inhabitants in all
big cities.
It is getting
easier to see technology as a knife with two cuttings edges. And I believe
this is the eye cleaner that will allow a better sight of evolution alternatives.
The future of technology is that human beings demand. I believe that in times to come technology will make use of pure sources of energy and control interfaces closer to the cerebral touch. The major demand will be reduce social and cultural distance between people, and stimulate their spiritual evolution. Communication technologies will be the first to experiment this scenery.
The musical technology assists a human domain where different contributions don't cancel each other, but join and add efforts. Acoustic music, for example, was not annihilated by electronic or computer music; on the contrary, it is plenty easy to notice a strong desire between young people to play an acoustic instrument, by direct physical manipulation, as well as the desire to make use of electronic instrumental to process irradiated sounds, powering certain pleasant sonic components and building up a fertile musical ambiance, where to enjoy pleasure and evolution. In other words, there are a lot of people who want to play an acoustic instrument, and they know that win over this pleasure will be a way tastier when using musical technology.
The goals of multiple streams in music, either mystic or not, are harmonic, and render their service to the human spirit evolution The musical technology, from this point of view, acts as a powerful transforming lever, for its power to set psychological states, excite the mystic, easy the traffic and digestion of principles and objectives.
Technology and
music are future's intimate friends, as have been in the past. Study a
little about the ancient and imperial chinese music, and you'll see what
I mean.
